Illinois Milestones Project: Achieving Capacity Transformation (IMPACT)

A program to provide free training, technical assistance, and cash grants to
faith-based organizations, community organizations, & places of worship.

ABOUT IMPACT

Illinois Coalition for Community Services (ICCS) facilitated a new program which provided free training, technical assistance, and cash grants to faith-based organizations, community organizations, and houses of worship across the state.  With a 2009 Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Grant in the amount of $500,000 from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children & Families, ICCS has delivered capacity building services to interested non-profit organization, and awarded grants of up to $25,000, through a competitive process, to organizations meeting eligibility requirements.

The program, entitled the Illinois Milestones Project: Achieving Capacity Transformation (IMPACT), was launched in January with four regional training conferences, followed by eight training workshops offered at different locations throughout the spring.  Ongoing one-on-one technical assistance is also being provided to organizations by an ICCS Community Organizer.  These services are free and open to any non-profit, faith-based organization, or community organization, including emerging groups and houses of worship.  Grant recipients were selected from the eligible organizations that fully participated in the program and submitted a detailed application.
